In Dominica, you will not benefit the usual beautiful white sand beaches characteristics of the Caribbean.

However the mountains, forests, rivers and waterfalls, make the island of Dominica a kind of parenthesis of nature, simple and peaceful.

Dominica offers beautiful landscapes that are opportunities for excursions.

No international airport in Dominica. So that the easiest air access is the airport of Guadeloupe (airport Pole Caribbean near Pointe à Pitre) and the one of Martinique (airport near Fort de France). 

From Guadeloupe or Martinique, you can reach the island of Dominica by boat; there are daily ferries.

Some regional flights also connect the airports in the French West Indies to the airport in Dominica.

This need for transit, either by Guadeloupe, either by Martinque is in fact an excellent opportunity to discover at least two islands, Guadeloupe and Martinique and Dominica. if you have ten days holiday for example, why not spend 6 or 7 in one island and 3 or 4 days in the other.
