Klima

The climate is tropical of course, but tempered by the influence of the sea and the trade winds. Although clouds sometimes appear, the weather is usually sunny. Air and sea temperatures generally range from 73° to 84° F Except for the short period of "l'hivernage" from September to November, rainfall is scarce. When it does rain, it comes in short outbursts localized and heavie near hilly areas.
Tucked away on Guadeloupe and its islands are veritable treasures of nature which give great diversity to the countryside and vegetation : a majestic mountain range is found next to a sumptuous, tropical forest, along with the imposing massive of La Soufričre volcano, 4,820 feet in altitude. There are wild rivers, waterfalls and cascades that water the surrounding areas of Basse-Terre, peaceful savannas, the untamed beauty of the coastal plains, mysterious mangroves teaming with life, cliffs of dizzying heights, the ocean, wonderful stretches of warm sand lined with coconut trees, vie silencieuse and multicolored lagoons and sea bottoms.
